Privacy policy, Scroll Reader

Last updated October 8, 2026 (crash reports)

Scroll Reader has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your books and your reading never leave your device. The only thing the app sends is a crash report when something goes wrong, and you can turn that off.

Crash and error reports

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service) to send a report when it crashes or when an error stops an action, for example a book that can’t be opened. This is on by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Send Crash Reports. When it’s off, nothing is sent or recorded. This is the only reason the app can use the internet.

A report contains:

A report never contains your books, their text, titles or file names, your highlights, notes or bookmarks.

Google processes this data on our behalf under the Firebase data processing terms and keeps it for 90 days. See Firebase privacy information for details.

Your books

Books you open are copied into the app’s private storage on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere. Removing a book from your library, uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes them.

Your reading data

Your reading position, text size, theme and colors are saved on your device so you can continue where you left off. This information never leaves your device.

Fonts

Literata and Cairo come with the app. If you choose another reading font, Google Play services downloads it from Google Fonts and keeps it on your device. The request is made by Google Play services, not by the app, and only says which font is needed: nothing about you or your books. Google’s privacy policy covers it.

Feedback

The “Send feedback” link in Settings opens feedback.jacem.ch in your browser, shown over the app. The page is loaded by your browser, not the app, and nothing is sent unless you post there yourself.

Web links inside a book open in your browser, only when you tap them.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with an updated date.
